Best WhatsApp Business API Provider in the UK (2026): Prices, Seats and Meta Fees Compared

Ten platforms that sell to British businesses, compared on their own pricing pages and against Meta's UK rate card. Where a figure could not be verified, we say so.

Short answer: every provider pays the same Meta rates for a +44 number — £0.0458 per marketing message and £0.0159 per utility, authentication or service message from 1 October 2026. What differs is the platform fee and its billing basis, whether you pay per agent, and whether Meta's fees reach you at cost. On the pages we checked on 26 October 2026, QuickWA had the lowest paid starting price (from $5/month, about £3.74), with no per-seat fees and 0% markup because Meta invoices you directly. Superchat and Go4whatsup have limited free tiers, Twilio is pay-per-message with no inbox, and respond.io, Trengo and SleekFlow suit omnichannel teams with bigger budgets. We make QuickWA, so every competitor figure below links to that company's own page.

How we compared

We opened each provider's public pricing page on 26 October 2026 and wrote down what it showed — plan name, price, currency and billing basis. We did not use review sites, reseller lists or AI summaries; several UK "best provider" articles we read still quote per-conversation prices from before Meta moved to per-message billing in July 2025. Four rules applied:

  • Billing basis matters. A "per month" figure that is only available on a 12-month contract is not the same as a monthly plan. We say which.
  • Currency is what the page showed us. Most providers price UK customers in US dollars or euros. We converted to pounds at Bank of England spot rates for 22 October 2026 — US$1.3363 and €1.1934 to the pound — and mark those figures as approximate.
  • VAT. Only Go4whatsup said its prices are tax-exclusive; Superchat said "Prices are net". The other pages did not say. If you are VAT-registered, ask each provider how VAT will appear on the invoice.
  • Meta's fee is separate. No provider can lower Meta's UK rate. What we check is whether the provider resells messages, takes them from a prepaid credit balance, or lets Meta invoice you directly.

Superchat and Go4whatsup also publish limited free tiers (Superchat's covers 1 user and 30 active contacts), so if "starting price" means zero, they start lower than anyone. Among paid plans, QuickWA's $5/month is the lowest entry point we found. Wati served us rupee prices only, so we have not quoted a sterling figure for it; Esendex, a UK messaging company, lists WhatsApp but asks you to "get in touch" for a price; Brevo shows WhatsApp campaigns on its Professional plan, which is "Talk to sales"; and Infobip publishes per-message billing without a starting price. Ask those four for a written UK quote.

What a five-person team actually pays

Most British businesses move from the free WhatsApp Business app to the API because more than one person needs to answer: a salon with three stylists and a receptionist, an estate agency with a lettings desk and two negotiators, a Shopify brand with a customer-service team. Here is the platform cost for five agents before Meta's fees, using only the published numbers. Our arithmetic, converted at the 22 October 2026 Bank of England rates.

Trengo Boost10 users included (annual billing)€299 ≈ £250.54
QuickWANo per-seat fees; choose the plan that fits after sign-upfrom $5

We have not put a five-agent figure on QuickWA because plan limits are shown after sign-up and we will not quote a plan price here beyond the starting point. The table is about structure: with per-seat pricing, the bill rises every time you hire a Saturday receptionist or add a temp for the Christmas rush; without it, a sixth agent costs nothing extra on the platform side. 360dialog is left out because its per-number price does not depend on seats — and its Regular plan has no inbox for agents to work in.

Meta's UK fees: the part every provider shares

Meta publishes a sterling rate card for the United Kingdom. From 1 October 2026 the rates per delivered message to a +44 number are:

CategoryGBPUSD equivalentExample: 2,000 messages
Marketing£0.0458$0.0635£91.60
Utility£0.0159$0.022£31.80
Authentication£0.0159$0.022£31.80
Service£0.0159 after the first 1,000 free per number each month$0.022£15.90 (1,000 charged)

Two changes took effect on 1 October 2026: service replies are now charged after 1,000 free per business phone number per month (no rollover), and utility templates sent inside an open customer-service window are charged too. Messages your customers send you are free, and the free entry-point window after someone taps a Click-to-WhatsApp ad (Meta says it may stay open for up to 7 days) is unchanged. Our UK pricing guide works through full monthly budgets for three British businesses.

Two things to watch on provider pages:

  • Stale or wrong rate tables. One UK pricing page we checked showed marketing at "£0.020" and service as free, with a footnote saying the figures were "Meta's published India rates as of April 2026". Those numbers do not apply to a +44 number. ChatMaxima's UK page, by contrast, matched Meta's current card exactly (£0.0458 and £0.0159, "effective October 1, 2026").
  • Provider rate cards and credits. When a page says messages are billed "per [provider] rate card" or from prepaid credit, ask for its UK marketing and utility rates in writing and compare them with £0.0458 and £0.0159. Any difference is a markup, whatever it is called. Twilio is open about its own layer: US$0.005 (≈ £0.0037) per message on top of Meta's fee, inbound as well as outbound.

Provider notes for UK buyers

QuickWA

Built on Meta's official Cloud API with embedded signup, so you connect your own WhatsApp Business Account and Meta invoices you. There is no wallet, no credits and no top-up. Plans start at $5/month, there are no per-seat fees and no setup fee, and AI, automation, calling and integrations are included from Pro. Features that matter in the UK: appointment booking with reminders for salons and clinics, Stripe payment links for deposits, Shopify and WooCommerce order and abandoned-cart messages, Click-to-WhatsApp ad lead capture, consent tracking with automatic STOP and UNSUBSCRIBE opt-outs, and a sending window you set yourself. Billing is in US dollars, which is worth knowing if your accountant prefers sterling invoices. See the UK page for the full list.

Go4whatsup

The only provider we found with a sterling plan price: Standard at £32/month on its UK page, tax-exclusive, with agents not priced per seat and Meta's charges passed through "at cost". There is also a free tier with two agents and limited conversations. Two cautions from its own pages: the closing button on the UK page quotes "$39/mo" for the same plan, and its UK rate table is footnoted as India rates — ignore that table and use Meta's.

ChatMaxima

Starter is US$19/month on monthly billing (or US$99 for a year) with 3 team members and 10,000 messages a month on ChatMaxima's own allowance; extra messages are an add-on. Its UK pricing page states "no per-message markup" and shows Meta's correct October 2026 sterling rates, which is a good sign of a page that is maintained.

Callbell

Priced per agent: US$15 per user per month on Multiagent Chat (US$20 on Plus, which adds API and integrations), with WhatsApp "from 22$ / month" of consumable credits and a three-month minimum in its quote tool. The page also lists a WhatsApp broadcast module charged per contact reached. Simple for a two- or three-person team; the per-user model adds up as you grow.

SleekFlow

Omnichannel with a commerce focus and a UK-English site. Essential is US$49/month billed yearly with 3 seats and US$15 per extra seat; WhatsApp number hosting is listed at US$15/month and messages follow SleekFlow's own rate card. The page notes Essential "is currently rolling out by country", so confirm it is offered to UK accounts. API access is listed from Pro (US$109).

respond.io

A mature omnichannel inbox with strong workflow tooling. Starter is US$79/month on yearly billing (US$99 monthly) with 5 users and US$12 per extra user; the Developer API starts on Growth and incoming and outgoing webhooks on Advanced. WhatsApp fees are not in any subscription — you top up WhatsApp credit on the platform. A sound choice for a contact centre that runs several channels side by side.

360dialog

A Berlin-based Meta partner that sells the API itself rather than a team app: €49 per number per month on Regular, with the Inbox add-on included from Premium at €99. It suits developers building their own tools or agencies connecting many numbers, and its page says "no markup on Meta fees". For a front desk that just needs to answer chats, you would add an inbox on top.

Superchat

A German company with a UK phone line on its site and a broad inbox (WhatsApp plus other channels, reviews and a web widget). Basic is €89/month with 3 users, extra logins €19/month, prices "net" and a 12-month minimum term. Its free tier covers one user and 30 active contacts.

Trengo

A Dutch omnichannel platform with a GBP option on its pricing page. Boost is €299/month on annual billing (€349 month-to-month) with 10 users and a conversation allowance; extra conversations and an AI surcharge are priced separately. It is built for support teams that already handle email and social messages in volume.

Twilio

Not an inbox at all: a developer platform charging US$0.005 per WhatsApp message in or out, plus Meta's fees, with no monthly plan. Right for engineering teams sending order or login messages from their own systems; not for a team that needs to read and reply to chats.

When to pick someone else

QuickWA is not the right answer for every British business. Choose another provider if:

  • You need email, social DMs and WhatsApp in one support queue with a large team. Trengo, respond.io and SleekFlow are built around that.
  • You want to start at zero cost and stay small. Superchat and Go4whatsup publish free tiers with limits. QuickWA's paid plans start at $5/month.
  • You need a sterling invoice from day one. QuickWA bills in US dollars. Go4whatsup publishes a GBP price.
  • You are building your own software and only need the API pipe. Twilio or 360dialog fit that shape.
  • Procurement wants a negotiated enterprise contract with custom terms, an account manager and named support response times. The enterprise tiers at respond.io, Trengo, SleekFlow and 360dialog are designed for that conversation.

Verify any provider in 10 minutes

  1. Open their pricing page yourself and note whether the monthly figure needs annual payment or a minimum term.
  2. Check the currency and VAT line. Convert at today's rate and ask how VAT will appear on the invoice.
  3. Count your agents and add the per-seat price for everyone beyond those included — including part-timers who answer on Saturdays.
  4. Ask for their UK per-message rates in writing for marketing and utility. Compare with £0.0458 and £0.0159 on Meta's pricing page.
  5. Ask who invoices the messages: Meta directly to your WhatsApp Business Account, or the provider from credits.
  6. Confirm the inbox, API and webhooks are on the plan you are buying, not one tier up.
  7. Ask whether you own the WhatsApp Business Account, so you can move later without losing your +44 number or templates.
  8. Check opt-out handling. Under PECR regulation 22 every marketing message needs a simple way to opt out; send yourself a test and reply STOP.
