Best WhatsApp Business API Provider in Malaysia (2026): Prices, Seats and Meta Fees Compared
Seven platforms that sell to Malaysian businesses, compared on their own pricing pages and against Meta's Malaysia rate card. Where a provider publishes no price, or a page contradicts itself, we say so.
Short answer: in Malaysia the provider you choose does not change what Meta charges — RM 0.3467 per marketing message and RM 0.0564 per utility, authentication or service message to a +60 number, from 1 October 2026. It changes three other things: the platform price and how often you must pay it, how many team members you pay for, and whether Meta's fees reach you at cost. On the pricing pages we checked on 26 October 2026, QuickWA had the lowest paid starting price (from $5/month, about RM 20), no per-seat fees and 0% markup, because Meta bills you directly. ForwardChat is the strongest Malaysian-made option with ringgit pricing and a local setup team; respond.io (headquartered in Kuala Lumpur) and SleekFlow suit larger omnichannel teams. We make QuickWA, so every competitor figure below links to that company's own page.
How we compared
We opened each provider's public pricing page on 26 October 2026 and copied what it showed. We did not use review sites, reseller lists or AI summaries, because Malaysian comparison posts we read this month still quoted conversation-based prices from before Meta moved to per-message billing in July 2025. Four rules applied:
- Billing period matters. Several "per month" figures apply only if you pay a year in advance. We say which.
- Currency is what the page served. SleekFlow and ForwardChat show ringgit. Wati served us Indian rupees even on its Malaysian URL, so we have not converted or guessed a Malaysia price for it.
- Ringgit conversions are approximate. Where we convert, we use Bank Negara Malaysia's USD/MYR middle rate of 4.084 (26 October 2026, 12:00 session) and round to the nearest sen.
- Meta's fee is separate. No provider can lower Meta's Malaysia rate. We check whether the provider resells messages from a wallet or credit balance, adds its own rate card, or lets Meta invoice you directly.
The comparison in one table
| Provider | Cheapest paid plan (as shown) | Billing | Team members included | How Meta's fees are handled |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| QuickWA | from $5/month (about RM 20) | Monthly, or yearly at 20% less; USD | No per-seat fees | Meta invoices you directly, 0% markup; no wallet or credits |
| ForwardChat (Puchong, Selangor) | Starter RM 299/month | Monthly, quarterly (10% off) or annual (2 months free); RM 1,000 one-time AI setup on Starter and Growth, waived on quarterly or annual | Starter 3, Growth 5, Pro 10 | "Meta bills these directly. ForwardChat adds nothing on top." |
| respond.io (HQ Kuala Lumpur) | Starter US$79/month | Billed yearly (US$948); US$99 on monthly billing | 5; extra users US$12/month | "WhatsApp fees are not included"; you top up WhatsApp credit on respond.io |
| SleekFlow | Pro RM 399/month | Billed yearly (RM 4,788) | 3; seat add-on available, price not shown | "Per SleekFlow rate card", plus RM 50/month WhatsApp number hosting |
| ChatMaxima | Starter US$19/month | Monthly, or US$99/year | 3; extra members US$6/month | Not stated on the pricing page; its Malaysia rates page says "no per-message markup" |
| Go4whatsup | Free tier; Standard US$39/month | Monthly | Free: 2 agents; Standard: not priced per seat | "Pass-through at cost" |
| Wati | Growth ₹2,699/month (page served in INR) | Billed quarterly | 3; no additional users on Growth | Per-message charges by country; no markup statement |
Three providers that sell WhatsApp API services in Malaysia publish no plan price at all: Omnichat and Qiscus (both quote-based) and iSMS, run by MobiWeb Sdn Bhd from Kuala Lumpur, whose WhatsApp Business API page lists SMS credit bundles and a contact form but no WhatsApp plan. If you want one of them, ask for a written quote that separates the platform fee from Meta's fees.
Two notes on Go4whatsup. Its main pricing page lists Standard at US$39 with "unlimited" agents and REST API and webhooks. Its Malaysia pricing page quotes Standard at RM 179/month in one place and $39/mo in another, and its Malaysian rate table carries a footnote saying the figures are "Meta's published India rates as of April 2026" — so ignore that table and confirm the ringgit price in writing.
What a five-person team actually pays
Most Malaysian businesses that move to the API do so because more than one person has to answer the same number: a sales team at a property agency, the front desk and the doctor's assistant at an aesthetics clinic, or the packers and customer-service staff behind an online shop. Here is the platform charge for five team members, before Meta's message fees, using only the published numbers above. Our arithmetic; USD and RM at 4.084.
| Provider | How five people are covered | Platform cost per month |
|---|---|---|
| ChatMaxima Starter | US$19 + 2 extra members × US$6 (monthly billing) | US$31 ≈ RM 126.60 |
| Go4whatsup Standard | Agents not priced per seat | US$39 ≈ RM 159.28 |
| respond.io Starter | 5 users included | US$79 yearly ≈ RM 322.64, or US$99 monthly ≈ RM 404.32 |
| ForwardChat Growth | Starter has 3 users and no published extra-user price, so Growth (5 users) is the published fit | RM 499 ≈ US$122.18 |
| SleekFlow | Pro has 3 seats and the add-on price is not published; Premium (10 seats, RM 1,199 yearly) + RM 50 number hosting | RM 1,249 ≈ US$305.83 on Premium, or Pro plus two seats at a price you must ask for |
| QuickWA | No per-seat fees; choose the plan that fits after sign-up | from $5 |
We have not put a number on QuickWA's five-person cost because plan limits are shown after sign-up and we will not quote any plan price here beyond the starting point. The table is about structure: with per-seat pricing the bill rises every time you add a person, which matters in Malaysia because many businesses bring in temporary help for the Hari Raya, 11.11 and 12.12 peaks. Without per-seat fees, a sixth person for the Raya rush costs nothing extra on the platform side.
Meta's Malaysia fees: the part every provider shares
Meta publishes a Malaysia rate card in ringgit (and in US dollars). From 1 October 2026 the rates per delivered message to a +60 number are RM 0.3467 (US$0.086) for marketing and RM 0.0564 (US$0.014) for utility, authentication and service. An authentication message sent by a business registered outside Malaysia is charged at the international rate of RM 0.1685. Since 1 October, service replies are charged after the first 1,000 per business phone number each month, and utility templates sent inside an open customer-service window are charged too. Messages your customers send you are free, and the free entry window from Click-to-WhatsApp ads (up to 72 hours) stays free.
A worked example, the same on every platform: a Johor Bahru online shop sends 2,000 marketing messages for an 11.11 campaign and 3,000 order-update utility templates in a month. That is 2,000 × RM 0.3467 = RM 693.40 plus 3,000 × RM 0.0564 = RM 169.20, so RM 862.60 paid to Meta before any platform fee. Our Malaysia pricing guide works through more local budgets.
Two things to watch on provider pages:
- Stale rate tables. Some Malaysia pages we read still quote prices "per conversation", a model Meta retired in July 2025, or show rates from another country. Use only figures that match Meta's current card: RM 0.3467 and RM 0.0564.
- Provider rate cards and credit balances. When a provider bills messages "per [provider] rate card" or from a credit balance, ask for its Malaysia marketing and utility rates in writing and compare them with Meta's. Any difference is a markup, whatever it is called. ForwardChat and QuickWA both connect your own WhatsApp Business Account so Meta charges your card directly; respond.io uses a top-up credit; SleekFlow uses its own rate card.
Provider notes for Malaysian buyers
QuickWA
Built on Meta's official Cloud API with embedded signup, so you connect your own WhatsApp Business Account and Meta invoices you. There is no wallet, no credits and no top-up. Plans start at $5/month (about RM 20), there are no per-seat fees and no setup fee, and AI, automation, calling and integrations are included from Pro. What matters in Malaysia: an AI assistant that replies in the customer's language (Bahasa Melayu, English, Chinese or Tamil), Meta-approved templates in all four, COD confirmation and payment-link workflows, Shopify and WooCommerce order messages, appointment reminders for clinics and tuition centres, and a sending window you set yourself. Billing is in USD, and there is an Android app but no iOS app. See the Malaysia page for the full list.
ForwardChat
Run by Forward Genix (FGX Technologies PLT) in Puchong, Selangor, and the clearest "made in Malaysia" choice on this list: prices in ringgit, a Malaysian team that sets up the AI for you, and AI replies in BM, English and Chinese. Starter is RM 299/month with 3 team users, one WhatsApp number, 6,000 AI replies and 5,000 broadcast messages a month; Growth (RM 499) adds a second number and 5 users; Pro is RM 999 with 10 users. Starter and Growth carry a RM 1,000 one-time AI setup fee unless you pay quarterly or annually. Meta's fees are billed to your own Meta account with nothing added. A good fit if you want a done-for-you setup and a local invoice in ringgit.
respond.io
Founded in Hong Kong as Rocketbots in 2017 and now headquartered in Kuala Lumpur. A mature omnichannel inbox with strong workflow tooling. Starter is US$79/month on yearly billing (US$99 monthly) with 5 users and US$12 per extra user; the Developer API starts on Growth (US$159 yearly) and incoming and outgoing webhooks on Advanced (US$279 yearly). WhatsApp fees are not part of the subscription; you top up WhatsApp credit on the platform. A sensible choice for a contact centre that must run WhatsApp beside other channels.
SleekFlow
Omnichannel with a commerce focus, and its Malaysian pricing page shows ringgit. Pro is RM 399/month on yearly billing (RM 4,788), with 3 seats and 1,000 monthly active contacts to start; Premium is RM 1,199/month yearly with 10 seats and adds HTTP request and webhook automations. WhatsApp number hosting is RM 50/month and message fees follow SleekFlow's own rate card, which you should compare with Meta's. Note that seats and contacts both scale the price.
ChatMaxima
A low-cost multichannel inbox priced in US dollars. Starter is US$19/month (or US$99/year) with 3 team members, 10,000 platform messages a month and extra members at US$6/month. The pricing page does not say how Meta's fees are billed; its separate Malaysia rates page, which matched Meta's October 2026 rates exactly, states "no per-message markup".
Go4whatsup
The only provider here with a published free tier for WhatsApp (2 agents, limited monthly conversations), and a US$39 Standard plan that is not priced per seat and includes REST API and webhooks. Meta charges are passed through "at cost". Treat its Malaysia page with care, for the reasons given above.
Wati
Served us rupee pricing only, even on its Malaysian URL: Growth at ₹2,699/month billed quarterly, with 3 users, no additional users and "No webhooks". Ask Wati for a written Malaysia quote in ringgit or US dollars before you compare.
When to pick someone else
QuickWA is not the right answer for every Malaysian business. Choose another provider if:
- You want a local team to build it for you. ForwardChat sets up and maintains the AI for you from Selangor, priced in ringgit. With QuickWA you connect the number yourself through Meta's embedded signup, with help from [email protected].
- You need an invoice in ringgit. QuickWA bills Malaysian accounts in USD. ForwardChat and SleekFlow publish RM prices.
- You need many channels in one inbox. If agents must also handle other social and messaging channels on the same screen, respond.io and SleekFlow are built around that.
- You want to start at zero cost. Go4whatsup publishes a free tier with limits. QuickWA's plans start at $5/month.
- Procurement needs a negotiated enterprise contract with custom terms, SLAs and a named account manager. The enterprise tiers at respond.io and SleekFlow, or a quote from Omnichat or Qiscus, are designed for that conversation.
- Your team wants an iPhone app. QuickWA's mobile app is Android only.
Verify any provider in 10 minutes
- Open their pricing page yourself and note whether the monthly figure needs yearly or quarterly payment, and whether it is in RM or USD.
- Count the people who will answer chats and add the per-seat price for each one beyond those included.
- Ask for their Malaysia per-message rates in writing for marketing and utility, and compare them with RM 0.3467 and RM 0.0564 on Meta's pricing page.
- Ask who invoices the messages: Meta directly to your WhatsApp Business Account, or the provider from a wallet, credit or its own rate card.
- Check number hosting, AI setup and onboarding fees, which some pages list outside the plan card.
- Ask whether prices include SST and whether the invoice will carry the legal name on your SSM registration.
- Confirm API and webhook access is on the plan you are buying, not one tier up.
- Ask whether you own the WhatsApp Business Account, so you can move provider later without losing your +60 number or your approved templates.
- Test your languages. Send yourself a BM template and a Chinese template and check how they render in the inbox and on your phone.
