The Bahrain WhatsApp Campaign Calendar (October 2026 – December 2027)
Bahrain's year has a rhythm of its own: National Day in December, the Autumn Fair in January, Ramadan and Gergaoon in February, the Grand Prix in March, and a summer when families travel. Here is what to send, when, and in which template category.
Short answer: the big Bahraini moments for WhatsApp between now and the end of 2027 are National Day (16–17 December 2026), the Autumn Fair (24 January – 2 February 2027), Ramadan (expected from about 8 February 2027), Eid al-Fitr (about 9 or 10 March), the Bahrain Grand Prix (12–14 March), Eid al-Adha (about 16 May), the new Day of Allegiance and Loyalty (1 June), back-to-school and White Friday, and National Day again on 16–17 December 2027. Islamic dates are astronomical estimates, subject to moon sighting. Send offers as marketing templates to opted-in segments only, keep order and booking updates in utility, and during Ramadan shift sends away from iftar.
How to use this calendar
Every row below has a date, what to send, and the WhatsApp template category. Category matters for cost: for Bahraini numbers a marketing message costs $0.0392 and a utility message $0.0091 (see our Bahrain pricing guide). Submit seasonal marketing templates at least a week early so they are approved before the date, and remember that Meta reviews Arabic and English as separate language entries of the same template.
Three Bahraini realities shape every campaign:
- The weekend is Friday and Saturday. Thursday evening is the start of the weekend and the best slot for restaurant, leisure and retail offers.
- Your list is not only Bahraini. Non-Bahrainis were about 53% of residents in December 2024 (IGA data). Skift, citing IGA figures, reports that Saudi visitors made up about 86% of Bahrain's 2024 arrivals, most driving over the King Fahd Causeway. Send Saudi customers (+966) their own version, timed for when they plan a weekend trip, and expect to pay Saudi rates for them.
- People pay with BenefitPay. BENEFIT's deputy CEO told Zawya the app had more than 1.2 million subscribers by September 2025, in a population of about 1.6 million. Make "how to pay" obvious in your offers.

Before 27 November: clean your list
Bahrain's data protection authority reminded businesses on 20 October 2026 that consent must be clear, specific and current. Before the busiest sending season of the year, send one re-permission message to customers you have not messaged in a long time, and suppress those who do not answer. National Day, 16–17 December
In 2026 the holiday falls on Wednesday and Thursday, running straight into the Friday–Saturday weekend, so plan for four days off in a row and a busy leisure weekend. Send the greeting and offer on the morning of the 15th or 16th, not at midnight. Use red and white in your images, keep the copy respectful, and send operational messages (closing days, delivery cut-offs) as separate utility templates.

Q1 2027: Autumn Fair, Ramadan, Gergaoon and Eid
Autumn Fair, 24 January – 2 February
The organiser's site lists the 2027 edition for 24 January to 2 February at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir. If you exhibit, the fair is a consent-collection event as much as a sales one: put a WhatsApp QR code on the stand that opens a chat with a ready-made "Yes, send me offers" message, and you will leave with an opted-in list instead of a bowl of business cards. If you also run Click-to-WhatsApp ads during the fair, conversations they start open Meta's free entry-point window.
Ramadan, from about 8 February
Astronomers quoted by Gulf News in October 2026 expect Ramadan to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, subject to the official moon sighting. Plan around three facts:
- Working hours shrink. Government offices worked 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. during Ramadan 2026, and Bahrain's labour rules limit Muslim employees to six hours a day. Your own team's response times will change, so say so in an auto-reply.
- Attention moves to the evening. Do not send during the hour before iftar, when people are travelling home and preparing to eat. Late morning and the hours after taraweeh are when people read.
- Hours and menus are utility; offers are marketing. "Our Ramadan hours are 8 p.m. to 2 a.m." is information. "Iftar for four, BD 12" is a promotion.

Gergaoon, mid-Ramadan
Gergaoon (القرقاعون), when children go door to door for sweets in the middle of Ramadan, is a big moment for confectioners, toy shops and children's clothing. Send the offer about a week before; with Ramadan starting around 8 February, mid-month falls around 21–22 February. Treat that date as an estimate.

Eid al-Fitr and the Grand Prix
Eid al-Fitr is forecast for Tuesday 9 or Wednesday 10 March. Send Eid fashion and gift offers in the last ten days of Ramadan, then a short greeting on Eid morning with holiday hours. Two days after Eid, Formula 1 opens its 2027 season at the Bahrain International Circuit on 12–14 March, with testing at Sakhir on 24–27 February; reports note the dates could change. Hotels, car rental, restaurants and transfers should have booking-confirmation and reminder templates approved in February.

Q2 2027: Eid al-Adha and the new 1 June holiday
Eid al-Adha is expected on about Sunday 16 or Monday 17 May 2027, with Arafat Day the day before; estimates differ by a day and the date depends on moon sighting. Butchers, caterers and travel agents should open Udhiya and holiday bookings two to three weeks earlier and send confirmations as utility messages. On 11 October 2026 the Gulf Daily News reported that 1 June will be marked every year as an official holiday, the Day of Allegiance and Loyalty. Treat it as a national occasion: a respectful greeting and your opening hours, not a sale. Ashura, a public holiday in Bahrain, is expected around 15–16 June; we recommend pausing promotional messages and sending only opening hours.
Q3 2027: summer and back to school
The 2026–27 school year runs until 30 June 2027 according to the Ministry of Education calendar reported by the Gulf Daily News, and many families travel in July and August. Shift from footfall offers to delivery, staycations and "while you're away" services such as car care, home cleaning and pet boarding. Back-to-school runs from late August; in 2026, government school classes started on 3 September. Use a short drip journey (reminder, offer, last chance) rather than three separate blasts.

Q4 2027: White Friday and National Day again
White Friday falls on 26 November 2027 and National Day on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 December, which merges with the weekend. Reuse what worked in 2026: the segments that opened, the hours that converted, the templates that stayed green. The calendar repeats; your list should get better each time.
Five rules for seasonal WhatsApp in Bahrain
- Opted-in segments only. Seasonal peaks are when blocks pile up. Fewer, interested recipients keep your quality rating high.
- One promotion per moment. A reminder the day before is fine; three blasts in a week is not.
- Utility for logistics. Hours, delivery cut-offs and booking confirmations are cheaper and better received as utility templates.
- Arabic and English, plus your other customers' languages. Tag contacts by language and send each person one version.
- Respect the occasion. National and religious days get greetings; save the discounts for the shopping moments.
